'Fast & Furious' star Paul Walker dies in car crash


The 40-year-old actor has passed away in a fiery car accident in California.

Paul Walker, the star of the highly successful franchise ‘Fast & Furious’, has been killed in a car accident in California.

According to reports, the 40-year-old actor was riding in a Porsche that lost control and crashed in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles. The car hit a post or a tree before busting into flames, killing both passengers in the vehicle.

A past by the actor’s team on Facebook stated: “It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. - ‪#‎TeamPW”

Deputy Heischuber of Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station told PEOPLE that there is still “an ongoing investigation” and “there are deputies on the scene now”. He also stated: “Solo car crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. in the city of Santa Clarita, on the outskirts of Valencia. A 911 call came in from a bystander." 

Paul Walker was currently filming the seventh ‘Fast & Furious’ film.
